How To: Build your chirp Page

It's time to build your chirp page - follow the below steps to get started!

Your chirp page is completely customizable - you can choose the layout, color scheme, links, widgets, etc! Build your page how YOU want it and share it with your followers!

Build your chirp Page

You can access it from a few different areas:

  1. From the Dashboard section, click 'Build Your chirp page'.
  2. From the Pages section, click on 'Build Page'.
    1. If you would like to modify your existing chirp page, you will click on 'Edit Page' from this same section.

Choose your Layout

Select which template is best for you by clicking on either of the options. Don't get caught up on the colors scheme, you will be able to change the colors at a later step.

Choose wisely, though! You will not be able to change the template once it's saved. However, you will be able to modify the sections within the template.

Choose your Color Theme

  1. At the top of the screen, click on the "paintbrush" icon.
  2. Choose the theme that is available for your template.
    1. If a theme is not available for your template, it will be greyed out. 
  3. A background image can be uploaded to use instead of a color. To do so, click 'Upload Image' within the 'Background' section.
  4. Click 'Save Changes'.

Choose your Sections

Both templates have multiple sections that you can add, delete or modify. As you edit each section, your chirp page's preview will also update so you can easily see what your modifications will look like to your visitors! Don't worry, any changes will not be reflected on your live page... yet - you will need to click 'Update your chirp' for the changes to take effect. 

Let's walk through each so you can determine what is best for your chirp page.

Profile

This section is required to be on your page.

  1. Upload a profile image.
  2. Review the name on your page and update if necessary.
    1. The name listed will be the same name you sign up with, but can be changed. For example, if you use a different name on your social media accounts.
  3. Update the bio.
  4. Click 'Save Changes'.

Now, this is where the customization really takes place! Your chirp page can include multiple sections to bring it to life and match your brand. While all will be listed below, only the Profile section is required, so you have many choices in what content is displayed on your chirp page. If you don't want a specific section on your page, simply do not add it.

You have two options when it comes to selecting and editing page sections:

  1. Scrolling through the page and clicking the "pencil" icon in the top left of each section.
    1. When your page is initially created, it includes the standard sections found on every chirp page. These sections are: Hero, Showcase, Featured and Short Stack. If you do not want to use any or all of these sections, please delete each before setting your page live. If not modified or deleted, the default image and copy will be used on your active chirp page.
  2. Clicking the 'Add to your page' button in the bottom right corner. 
    1. This allows you to incorporate extra sections into your page for enhanced customization.

If something is marked with an *, it is a required entry or field. 

Intro Video

Add an intro video to share your story, promote your brand, or showcase something unique.

  1. Click on the intro video image within the left side navigation wizard.
  2. Upload your video.*
  3. Edit the Title.*
  4. Add a Description. 
  5. Click 'Save Changes'.

Carousel

The Carousel section includes two options - Hero and Showcase. Both are similar in what they offer, but can be located in different locations on the page and are different sizes. Either or both can be used to highlight brand collaborations, blog posts, tease upcoming events, etc. 

Hero

The Hero section is included on your page as the default section. If you do not want to use this section, please delete it before updating your chirp page.

Within the Hero section, you can have up to ten different "slides" rotating through at a time.

  1. Upload a Desktop Img/Video.*
    1. This is what will show to visitors who are on a desktop machine.
  2. Upload a Mobile Image.*
    1. This is what will show to visitors who are on a mobile phone or tablet.
  3. Add a Subtitle.
  4. Add a Title.*
  5. Add a Link Text.*
  6. Add a Link URL.*
  7. Set a Start Date and End Date. 
  8. Click 'Save Changes'.

If you want to add more slides, click '+Add Another'. 

If you want to delete a slide, click 'Delete Card'.

Showcase

The Showcase section is included on your page as the default section. If you do not want to use this section, please delete it before updating your chirp page.

Within the Showcase section, you can have up to 15 "cards" at at time. 

  1. Upload an image.*
  2. Add a Subtitle.*
  3. Add a Title.*
  4. Add a Link Text.*
  5. Add a Link URL.*
  6. Set a Start Date and End Date. 
    1. This is optional. It is helpful to use if you only want this "card" to appear during a certain timeframe, like if you only want it to appear during a promotional period.
  7. Click 'Save Changes".
If you want to add more slides, click '+Add Another'. 

If you want to delete a slide, click 'Delete Card'.

Widget

The Widget section allows you to add in social media accounts as standalone sections and/or as a "mosaic" with the accounts mixed in with each other. By adding in the social media sections, you can showcase your lastest posts directly on your chirp page, making it a one-stop shop for all things "you"!

Mosiac

Your connected social media account(s) will be pre-populated and selected. chirp will automatically pull in the latest posts from your selected account(s).

  1. To include or exclude your account(s), click the box next to an account.
    1. If it's checked, then the account will be included. 
  2. Click 'Save Changes'.

Instagram

To add the Instagram section to your page, your Instagram account must be connectd to your chirp account and there must be at least one post on your Instagram feed.

Click on 'Instagram' to add it to your chirp page.

TikTok

To add the TikTok section to your page, your TikTok account must be connectd to your chirp account and there must be at least one post on your TikTok feed.

Click on 'TikTok' to add it to your chirp page.

YouTube

To add the YouTube section to your page, your YouTube account must be connectd to your chirp account and there must be at least one post on your YouTube channel.

Click on 'YouTube' to add it to your chirp page.

Spotify

  1. Add your Artist Link URL.*
  2. Click 'Save Changes'.

Header

The Header does not include a social media account but allows you to add a custom header and/or URL for your page. 

  1. Add a Title.*
  2. Add a Link Text.
  3. Add a Link URL.

Tiles

The Tiles section includes Featured, Short Stack and Social Status. Featured and Short Stack are similar in that they can help to highlight "something" and include, but are different sizes. The Social Status will include your follower counts and make it easy for visitors to follow you on your various social media accounts if they aren't already.

Featured

The Featured section is included on your page as the default section. If you do not want to use this section, please delete it before updating your chirp page.

  1. Upload a Desktop Image.*
  2. Upload a Mobile Image.*
  3. Add a Subtitle.
  4. Add a Title.
  5. Add a Link Text.
  6. Add a Link URL.*
  7. Add a Start Date and End Date.
  8. Click 'Save Changes'.

Short Stack

The Short Stack section is included on your page as the default section. If you do not want to use this section, please delete it before updating your chirp page.

You can have up to two Short Stacks on your chirp page.

  1. Choose the Appearance.
    1. Color Theme: This will utilize the selected color theme for your page.
    2. Image: This will use an image rather than one color. 
      1. Upload an image.*
  2. Add a Subtitle.
  3. Add a Title.
  4. Add a Link Text.*
  5. Add a Link URL.
  6. Add a Start Date and End Date.
  7. Click 'Save Changes'.

If you want to add another card, click '+Add Another'. 

If you want to delete a card, click 'Delete Card'.

Social Status

Your connected social media accounts will be pre-populated and selected. chirp will automatically pull in your follower counts from your selected account(s).

  1. To include or exclude your account(s), click the box next to an account.
    1. If it's checked, then the account will be included. 
  2. Click 'Save Changes'.

Products

Do you sell your own products? Do you work with brands to sell their products? Do you have affiliate links to sell products? Whatever it may be, showcase products on your chirp page!

Before being able to select which products you wish to your page, you must first add them within the Products section. 

  1. From the Products section, click on 'Edit List in Products'.
  2. Add a Product - this can be done in two ways:
    1. Add Product from Link
      1. Enter product URL.
      2. Click 'Get Data'.
      3. Once the 'Add New Product' window appears, confirm that the data is correct. If not, edit where necessary.
      4. Click 'Save'.
    2. Enter data manually
      1. Add a Product URL.*
      2. Add a Product Title.*
      3. Add a Shop Name.*
      4. Add a Product Price.*
      5. Add a Rating.
      6. Add Rating Votes.
      7. Add a Product Image.*
        1. Up to four images can be added per product.
      8. Click 'Save'.
  3. Continue adding as many products as you would like.

You can edit or remove your saved products by clicking the "three dots" icon to the right of each product listed. 

Now, it's time to go back to the Product component to showcase your product(s) on your chirp page.

  1. Select which product(s) to show on your page.*
  2. If more than one product is selected, you can adjust the order in which they appear by dragging and dropping. this can be done by clicking on and holding the six dots to the left of each product. 
  3. Click 'Save Changes'.

Change your Flow

Now that you have reviewed all available sections, you can further customize your page by modifying where each section is placed within your page.

  1. Locate the section on the page preview that you wish to move.
  2. Hover over the section so that the blue outline appears
  3. Click on the "six dots" icon to the right.
  4. While holding the icon, drag and drop the section to your preferred location on the page.

Remove Unused Sections

Are there any default sections on your page that you are not using? That's fine, you can delete them! 

  1. Locate the section on the page preview that you wish to move.
  2. Hover over the section so that the blue outline appears
  3. Click on the "trash can" icon to the right.
  4. Click 'Delete'.

Congrats! You have built your chirp page! 🎉

Now that your page is designed the way you want it, let's take another look at how it will be viewed on both desktop and mobile screens.

  1. At the top of the screen, find the "desktop" and "mobile" icons.
  2. Click between the two to preview the page for desktop users and mobile users. 

Assuming both views look good to you, it's time to set your chirp page live!

Click 'Update your chirp' to complete the process.
